Symposium Scene

On the morning of December 10th, Min Yi, First-Level Counselor of China International Communications Group (hereinafter referred to as "CICG"), led a delegation to the Zhongguancun Global High-Level Think Tank Alliance (hereinafter referred to as "ZGCTA") to conduct in-depth exchanges and discussions on topics such as the construction of think tank platforms, the deepening of international scientific and technological cooperation, and the enhancement of international communication capacity. Wu Jianmin, Director-General of ZGCTA and President of the Beijing Academy of Science and Technology (hereinafter referred to as "BJAST"), met with the delegation. Li Junkai, Secretary-General of ZGCTA and Director of the Center for International and Regional Cooperation of BJAST, presided over the symposium.

Wu Jianmin extended a warm welcome to the visit of CICG. He stated that as the Director-General Unit of ZGCTA, BJAST has actively implemented the national and Beijing municipal strategic deployments for scientific and technological development, focusing on core businesses including technological innovation, scientific and technological think tanks, science popularization, and scientific and technological services. Remarkable achievements have been made in areas such as scientific and technological R&D and achievement transformation, serving economic and social development as well as urban construction and management, providing decision-making support for the Party and the government through scientific and technological think tanks, and improving public scientific literacy through science popularization. He expressed the hope that by leveraging the resource advantages of ZGCTA, BJAST will deepen cooperation with CICG in policy consultation, joint research projects, and the organization of brand activities, joining hands to contribute to the construction of Beijing as an international science and technology innovation center.

During the symposium, Min Yi elaborated on CICG's profound accumulation and core advantages in the field of international communication and cultural exchange. As a comprehensive international communication institution directly under the Central Government, CICG has been deeply engaged in the industry for more than 70 years. Its core functions focus on promoting and interpreting Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era to the outside world, all-media international communication, innovation in international discourse, high-level think tank research, people-to-people and cultural exchanges and cooperation, and the development of translation undertakings. It has built a diversified and multi-dimensional communication ecosystem featuring multiple languages, channels, platforms, and formats. CICG has successfully launched brand activities such as the "Erhai Forum on Global Ecological Civilization Construction" and the "Chinese Enterprise Global Image Summit". The national-level "Orchid Awards" initiated and established by CICG has become an important platform for promoting exchanges and mutual learning between civilizations of China and the World.

Dong Yan, Deputy Director of China International Publishing Center(CIPC), focused on introducing the 2026 Erhai Forum. Co-hosted by CICG and multiple parties, the forum serves as a brand activity platform for the international communication of Xi Jinping Thought on Ecological Civilization. It will focus on the theme of "Technological Innovation for Ecological Environment Governance: Promoting the Modernization of Harmonious Coexistence between Humanity and Nature" and host a series of sub-forums and related activities. He expressed the expectation of carrying out in-depth cooperation with BJAST and ZGCTA in guest invitation, topic planning, and achievement communication, so as to jointly enhance the global influence and communication effectiveness of the forum.

Li Junkai introduced the basic information and development priorities of BJAST, and shared the international cooperation achievements and future plans of ZGCTA. In recent years, through organizing relevant activities such as the Zhongguancun Forum and the China International Fair for Trade in Services, and carrying out international cooperation projects such as APEC Workshop on Women in STEM, a number of influential research results and cooperation cases have been achieved. She stated that she looks forward to exploring a cross-border cooperation model of "technology + communication" with CICG, expanding all-round collaboration in jointly conducting cooperative research, fostering high-end international activities, and promoting the overseas promotion of China's scientific and technological innovation achievements, so as to enhance the international influence of Chinese science, technology and culture.
